Introducing the Bullpen
Columns — By Scott Ham on August 13, 2009 2:50 pmWe’re adding a new section here at the recently revamped Bronx View. We call this area the Bullpen.
The Bullpen will feature a varied array of writers who will contribute when the mood or subject strikes them. Styles and topics can range from statistical analysis and minor league observations to rants about Robbie Cano always swinging at the first pitch.
We hope you enjoy this new feature to the site.

speaking of swinging at the first pitch: it’s something I rant about to the players on my beer-league softball team. however, isn’t this something that we could say about the Captain, Mr. Jeter? Our Man does this all of the time, yet he’s batting .317.
heh. The funny thing with Cano is that his numbers when he hits the first pitch are actually pretty good. The thing that gets aggrevating is when Cano swings at a first pitch on a pitcher who’s walking the park. That’s annoying.
Jeter gets a big pass over Cano because his OBP is about 60 points higher.
