From a Yankees prospect perspective: Eduardo Nunez & Jesus Montero each went 0-for-2 in the Triple-A All-Star Game. Jonathan Albaladejo earned the save.
In the Double-A game, Brandon Laird went 0-for-2 with a walk while Austin Romine also went 0-for-2. DJ Mitchell pitched a scoreless inning, striking out one. —————————————————————————- Tampa:
A bit of late-game magic for Tampa tonight. Down 3-0 entering the top of the ninth, Tampa scored four times to take a 4-3 decision.
The big blow was a three-run double by Trent Lockwood (24, 1B).
On the hill, Graham Stoneburner provided five innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on three hits. He walked one and struck out five. Stoneburner is 4-4 with a 2.62 ERA in 10 starts for Tampa (56 IP, 32 H, 13 BB, 50 K, 3 HR). The win went to Shaeffer Hall, making his first ever professional relief appearance. The soft-tossing lefty (22) went two scoreless innings, allowing two hits and no walks. He struck out four. Since being promoted to Tampa, he is 5-1 with a 2.54 ERA (28.1 IP, 31 H, 2 BB, 29 K). ——————————————————————— Charleston:
Charleston had some late-inning magic of their own tonight. Robert Lyerly blasted a two-run home run in the 9th inning to give Charleston a 3-1 win. The 22-year old first baseman is now hitting .315 on the season with 28 doubles, three home runs, and 40 RBI in 82 games. As mentioned in previous reports, he hasn’t hit for much power since joining the organization last year – but he is showing the ability to hit. Kyle Higashioka had a couple of hits in the win and is riding a modest five game hitting streak.
24-year old Ronny Marte made his second start of the season, pitching six strong innings. He gave up one run on five hits while walking one and striking out two. In 29 games overall, he is 2-2 with a 3.22 ERA (44.2 IP, 56 H, 13 BB, 34 K, 2.04 GO/AO, 2 HR)
