Minors Report 4/29/11 (Andrew Brackman Effectively Wild; Dellin Betances Returns; Chase Whitley; Slade Heathcott is Amazing; Ramon Flores; Nik Turley)

Scranton: Scranton lost to Charlotte tonight, 6-5. However, I don’t have too much information on what exactly happened in the game (darn boxscores!) Andrew Brackman pitched and threw six innings, allowing three runs on three hits. However, he walked five and uncorked two wild pitches….I believe he also hit at least one batter. On the

Minors Report 4/26/11 (Justin Maxwell; Shaeffer Hall; Michael Solbach; Slade Heathcott)

Scranton: Justin Maxwell’s home run surge continued, as he connected on a two run home run to help Scranton to a 8-5 victory over Charlotte. Maxwell drove in another run to give him three for the night. Maxwell now has six home runs on the season; all have come in his last ten games. The

Minors Report 4/22/11 (Bradley Suttle; Brett Marshall (Not Good); Rob Segedin; Thomas Kahlne)

Scranton was rained out tonight. Trenton: The “Thunder” (who definitely have not been living up to that nickname this year) tried to mount a comeback tonight, but their 9th inning rally ultimately failed in a 3-2 loss to Harrisburg. Trenton was only able to compile four hits in the game. One of those hits was

Minors Report 4/19/11 (Manny Banuelos Returns; David Phelps; Justin Maxwell; Austin Romine; Josh Romanski; Mikey O’Brien; Thomas Kahlne)

Scranton: David Phelps threw 6.1 impressive innings, while Justin Maxwell’s power surge continued as Scranton defeated Lehigh Valley, 5-2. Phelps allowed two runs on three hits. He walked one and struck out six to lower his ERA to 5.51 in three starts (16.1 IP, 22 H, 5 BB, 12 K, 1 HR). Phelps had a

Minors Report 4/14/11 (Jorge Vazquez; Josh Romanski)

Scranton: Jorge Vazquez won’t let the Yankees take him off of their radar. Vazquez connected for two home runs and drove in three as the pitching staff patched together nine innings in a 6-2 Scranton victory over Buffalo. With Hector Noesi being called up to the majors, Scranton went with a committee tonight. Amaury Sanit,

Slade Heathcott is on Fire; Jesus Montero; Betances & Warren Struggle; Prior Works Back-to-Back Days

Charleston: We will once again start in Charleston today, where Slade Heathcott kept up his early season power surge, knocking out two doubles amongst his three hits as Charleston lost to Lexington, 12-4. Heathcott is now 9-for-18 on the season with four doubles, one triple, and two home runs. That’s good for a 1.167 slugging

Minors Report for 6/24/10 (Brandon Laird Has Huge Day; Austin Romine; Hector Noesi; Andrew Brackman & Zolio Almonte Promoted)

In promotion news, Andrew Brackman was promoted to Trenton & Zolio Almonte was promoted to Tampa. Almonte is a 21-year old center-fielder. This is quite the leap for the young man. On the opposite side of the spectrum, Neil Medchill was demoted from Tampa to Charleston. I am going to break from the normal format

Minors Report for 6/20/10 (Brandon Laird; David Phelps)

Minors Report for 6/20/10 (Brandon Laird; David Phelps)

Tampa had the day off. Scranton: One of those days where there isn’t too much to report on in Scranton. Jesus Montero went 0-for-4 as Scranton was able to pound out eight hits…but only one run. That run came off of the bat of Reegie Corona (23, IF), who hit a solo home run. Corona

Minors Report for 6/17/10 (Marcos Vechionacci; Shaeffer Hall)

Minors Report for 6/17/10 (Marcos Vechionacci; Shaeffer Hall)

Scranton: Jesus Montero actually legged out a triple tonight, but that was one of the three hits Scranton was able to muster as they got shutout, 2-0. The triple was Montero’s second of the season (which probably means that if Brett Gardner was running, they would have been inside-the-park home runs). Zack McAllister only lasted
